What Operating System will Roadrunner work on?
Roadrunner itself is Operating System independent, unlike other transport management software packages. Roadrunner will run on Windows XP, Vista and 7, Linux, proprietary Unix such as AIX as well as other operating systems / networks, though currently not Mac operating systems. There is no need to change your network to suit Roadrunner. If you wish to use our Windows GUI front end you will need a PC with at least Windows XP on the desktop. All versions of Windows later than XP are supported.

Due to the size of my business I may not need all the modules at once, are they sold separately?
Yes. Roadrunner Transport Management Software is comprised of 4 different modules: Traffic, Accounts, Garage and Warehouse. They can be purchased either as a complete package or, individually as required by you. If you are interested in any of our other products they are usually available completely stand-alone as well.

Do I have to have or buy Roadrunner to use your other products?
Generally no. For example, Falcon is a vehicle tracking system and can be used completely "stand alone". Skylark, the advanced load tracking tool will link to any TMS (Transport Management System) and GPS tracking system that you may have (assuming your existing suppliers are happy to send minimal job and location data to our Skylark servers).

My customers want to be able to track their consignments over the Internet. Can Roadrunner do that?
Yes. Your customers can securely log in over the Internet to view their consignments, their current status and even view PODs. Roadrunner is continually developing and setting the pace for new technology in transport including in-cab devices, sign-on-glass and so on.

I understand Roadrunner is Text only, is this outdated?
Actually you are wrong about that! Roadrunner can be supplied with a Windows-style Graphical User Interface (GUI), a text driven menu system or a mixture of both - the choice is yours. Many people mistakenly think that just because a system is Text based, it is not as good as GUI package. What is important is whether your staff can quickly and easily use the system and that it aids them in their tasks. We can supply both options.

Do I have to buy expensive equipment to install your products?
No. Well - let's be honest. if you want to have 30 or 40 users on the system then it's probably best that you have a dedicated server installed to run Roadrunner, however, if your operation is on a smaller scale and you only want a handful of users on the system, say 5 or 6, then we can usually install the Roadrunner Server on to one of your existing PC's. It will depend on the age and power of the machine of course, but we will do what we can to ensure you don't have to buy equipment you don't need.

We are a small business and we do the same runs every week. Is there a way to duplicate these jobs so that I don't have to enter them every week?
Yes. In Roadrunner it is easy to duplicate jobs or, to send them to a different date. Even if a booking has been invoiced you can still duplicate it. This can save you hours of data entry. There are a lot of time saving features available within the system and we're more than happy to show you how to get the most out of it.

I already use another accounting package; if I buy Roadrunner do I have to change my accounting package also?
No. Roadrunner data can be exported into a variety of third party systems.

I already use some software but am not happy with it. Can I import the data into Roadrunner?
Yes. As long as your current system can export the information, the majority of it can be imported into Roadrunner. This will help get you up and running on Roadrunner quickly and makes the transition between systems far simpler.

Can I get someone to come and visit my business to explain how Roadrunner could help me?
Yes. We are only too happy to visit you and discuss how Roadrunner could work for your business. Our advice is straightforward and honest - we won't try and sell you a Porsche when all you need is a Ute and we won't baffle you with technical nonsense. We know transport, and we talk your language.

I'm a long way from your office and a small company, are you really going to make the effort to see me?
Of course. If you are a significant distance from us we can discuss things over the phone and provide you with a real time, live, online demonstration before we visit. Duting this we will answer your questions on screen in front of you as we talk, not just show you things from a scripted presentation. We do this simply to make the initial demonstration more flexible for you, rather than tying you down a to meeting when your business might need you to be elsewhere at that moment. If you like what you see and want to look further then we will arrange a meeting at either your office or ours - whatever suits you. We do believe it's vitally important to meet face-to-face and to make sure you are getting what is right for your business, whatever size you are.
